Santa Monica, CA – Today, the Dan Hall for Santa Monica City Council campaign announced over $40,000 in fundraising as of the first reporting deadline of June 30th. The fundraising milestone, which far exceeded an internal campaign goal of $35,000, leaves the renter, Army veteran, and Santa Monica Pier Board member in a healthy position early in the election cycle. “A strong showing is vital for proving momentum and viability,” a campaign email to supporters stated ahead of the deadline.

(June 28, 2024) – The west side of Los Angeles County, which includes Santa Monica, saw a nearly 20 percent decrease in the total population of people experiencing homelessness, according to numbers released Friday by the Los Angeles County Homeless Services Authority, or LAHSA.

The Club also endorsed Kay Ambriz and Phillis Dudick for Rent Control Board; Jon Kean, Maria Leon-Vazquez, and Jennifer Smith for SMMUSD Board of Education; and Anastasia Foster, Margaret Quiñones-Perez, and Rob Rader for SMC Board of Trustees.
