Metro Introduces Fare Capping to Make Riding More Affordable

By |June 6th, 2023|

Metro is creating a fare structure that’s simple and easy to use. Metro is committed to providing a great rider experience for all of its customers. One key aspect of delivering on our vision is having a fare structure that’s easy to use, equitable and sustainable. In December 2022, the Metro Board of Directors approved a new fare policy which will go into effect by Summer 2023. The new fare policy ensures that no rider ever overpays and our most frequent riders who rely on our system, pay less. The new fare policy will also benefit customers by capping how much riders will need to pay each day and week to ride buses and trains.

By |April 4th, 2023|

I’m deeply concerned about sharp increases in evictions now that certain renter protections have ended as of this past Friday. As we work to bring Angelenos inside, we also have to work to prevent Angelenos from falling into homelessness.  In response, the City of Los Angeles has extended some of the emergency protections within the city limits and enacted new permanent protections to ensure that you have rights and are protected against unlawful eviction.

Our Veterans Need More Home Care Options

By |March 6th, 2023|

I go to work every morning at the West Los Angeles Veterans Medical Center with a smile on my face because doing my job is the highest honor. There’s nothing better than caring for the brave people who laid it all on the line for our country. Through my work, it’s become crystal clear to me that veterans in L.A. and everywhere need more home care options when they leave the hospital, so they can avoid homelessness and have the necessary support to live full, meaningful, and healthy lives.
