The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors finally put an important resource in the hands of many Angelenos last Tuesday, voting to adopt an ordinance that gives the legal right of counsel to tenants being served an unlawful detainer — more commonly known as an eviction — in the unincorporated territories of Los Angeles County.

The Sepulveda Transit Corridor (STC) is a Los Angeles Metro project that would link the San Fernando Valley to the Westside. It is still in its environmental study phase with draft Environmental Impact Reports to be released in early 2025. Metro entered into a Private-Public Partnership with two companies, L.A. SkyRail Express (LASRE) and the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Partners (STCP) to develop alternatives that aim to transform the notorious traffic bottleneck in the Sepulveda Pass.
L.A. County Voters May Expand Board of Supervisors From Five to Nine
On Tuesday the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted 3-0 to move forward with a proposal that would revamp county government by expanding the current number of board members from five to nine. The proposal would also establish the Count Executive Officer (CEO) as an elected position. Both Supervisor Holly Mitchell and Supervisor Kathryn Barger abstained from the vote citing cost and other concerns.
