WeHo Mayor John Erickson and Commissioner Danny Hang Win Powerful Progressive Endorsements from Tenant Group, Unions and LGTBQ+ Civil Rights Leader
West Hollywood, CA – Six progressive worker, renter, and civil rights leaders have endorsed Mayor John Erickson and Commissioner Danny Hang for this fall's West Hollywood City Council elections. Today, renters' group Coalition for Economic Survival (CES), the hotel workers’ union UNITE HERE Local 11, LGBTQ civil rights leader Cleve Jones, the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 770, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 11 all announced their endorsement of Mayor Erickson and Commissioner Hang. Both Mayor Erickson and Commissioner Hang are themselves renters and both are long-time supporters of raising the minimum wage. These six progressive organizations have named them as the candidates who will best fight for working families and renters to be able to live, work, and play in West Hollywood.

In anticipation of a potential countywide sales tax increase, the West Hollywood City Council unanimously approved an ordinance for the November Ballot at its meeting Monday that would direct money from this sales tax increase to services in West Hollywood.
