Profile: Natalya Zernitskaya’s Campaign for Santa Monica City Council

After the fall of the Soviet Union, and in the face of anti-Semitic oppression, Natalya Zernitskaya’s family fled from Belarus in 1995. She was six years old when they arrived in San Francisco, welcomed by relatives who shared a rent-controlled apartment with her family. Her first bed was a discarded cot, and her first trip to the grocery store reminded her of a board game.

His smile widens as he recalls his childhood days in New Jersey, with a father who emphasized the importance of education and community service. When Snell was in high school, his father was finishing a degree at Rutgers University.

Area Clubs Unite Again to Open Westside Democratic Headquarters

What began with just four Democratic clubs in 2004 has blossomed into 14 area clubs plus the Democratic National Committee combining resources to support its 2024 Westside campaign office. This election season, area Democrats have based the office on the accessible Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.
