ENDORSEMENTS: City of Los Angeles — Mayor – City Attorney – Controller

By |November 5th, 2022|

Mayor – We strongly endorse Karen Bass. Rick Caruso is LYING to you. The billionaire real estate developer (That should be enough to stop you right there) has been a Democrat for about 5 minutes, and his entire life has been dedicated to donating SUBSTANTIAL sums to forced-birth causes. He will merely "disappear" the homeless, just as Rudy Giuliani did in New York City in the 1990s. He’s offering “emergency beds,” not actually planning to provide them housing.

ENDORSEMENTS: Lieberman, Mignano, Rouse, and Tahvildaran-Jesswein for Santa Monica-Malibu Schools

By |November 3rd, 2022|

School Districts and their School Boards became real punching bags during the heart of the COVID pandemic, none likely more so than that governing Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD). But using the best science they were given (and it would change at times!), and despite some clear academic and socializing deficits that have clearly resulted from students being home, I feel the district and its board have done comparatively well, and have continued to strive for improvement in student achievement and opportunity. Therefore, we believe Laurie Lieberman and Richard Tahvildaran-Jesswein deserve re-election for another term. We would like to see them joined by district parents Alicia Mignano and Stacy Rouse.

ENDORSEMENTS: Adolphson, Byers, and Wright for WeHo Council

By |October 31st, 2022|

West Hollywood continues to change, and it’s time for this progressive city to move on from a previous generation of leaders that, while important from WeHo’s founding until recent years, have had more than their share of time on the council dais. People like Steve Martin and John Duran enjoyed many years of service, and in Martin’s case, remain so active they comment on items at just about every city council meeting. However, Duran’s behavior has soiled his reputation and he is no longer a qualifying candidate that should be given any consideration. John Heilman served well in his time on council, and, after narrowly losing re-election in 2020, certainly has every right to try and reclaim the council mantle.
