National Council of Jewish Women Open New Westside Shop

The National Council of Jewish Women – Los Angeles (NCJW-LA) recently held a grand opening for a new, Westside-based Council Shop and Donation Center at 3757 Overland Ave and Venice Blvd (Los Angeles, CA 90034). The new shop location is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Questions Remain as WeHo Council Adopts Amendment to Replace Protected Rental Units

The West Hollywood City Council took at least a temporary step Monday evening to ensure the number of affordable rental units is preserved as the city’s housing stock grows. Michelle Montenegro, from the long-range planning division of the Planning & Community Development Department, was on hand to present a proposed Zoning Text Amendment (ZTE) aligning replacement provisions for affordable units with state law.

WeHo City Council & Public Safety Commission Hold Joint Session on Equity in Policing

Public safety and issues surrounding equity in policing were the sole focus on Monday evening as the West Hollywood City Council and its Public Safety Commission met in a joint session. One of two major agenda items was the receipt and discussion of a report from the Center for Policing Equity (CPE) that assessed the racial disparities in interactions residents of West Hollywood have experienced with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station deputies.
