Community Corporation of Santa Monica, a non-profit organization that restores, builds, and manages affordable housing for people of modest means, today hosted a ribbon-cutting event for Pico Roots, Santa Monica’s first small business marketplace. Pico Roots, with partial funding from the City of Santa Monica, will provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to grow and expand their businesses while celebrating diversity, culture, and connection.

COURT REJECTS ATTEMPT TO BLOCK SUPPORTIVE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN VENICE

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard Fruin issued a ruling late on Tuesday, granting a complete victory to the City of Los Angeles and its partner affordable housing providers. The court rejected the plaintiffs’ multi-year effort to block Venice Dell Community, a City-approved affordable and supportive housing development. The Venice Dell Community will provide 140 much-needed new affordable homes in Venice, on a city-owned parking lot.
