The last time a major golf tournament was held in Los Angeles was the PGA Championship 28 years ago in 1995 when Sam Elkington won at Riviera Country Club. The last time the U.S. Open was held in the greater Los Angeles area was in 1948 when Ben Hogan was the champion. It’s been 75 years since the legendary Hogan and the U.S. Open graced Los Angeles with its presence. To say that this was a historic moment for golf in Los Angeles would be an understatement

South Carolina Just Too Much for the Lady Bruins in Sweet 16, 59-43

The UCLA Lady Bruins fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks 59-43 in Saturday’s Sweet 16 matchup. The Gamecocks came into the game the number one overall ranked team in the country, and the top seed in the tournament. South Carolina was unbeaten on the season, coming into the matchup 34-0, including a nine-point victory over UCLA back in November. The Bruins are actually only one of two teams this entire season that has kept the Gamecocks to a single-digit victory.
