Kobe Bryant Statue to be Unveiled in Front of Crypto.com Arena

One of Los Angeles’ most beloved icons will be receiving one of the greatest and lasting gifts his former home could bestow. Basketball Hall of Famer and former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, whose death in a helicopter accident just over four years ago shook the core of the city, will have a statue to represent him placed outside of Crypto.com Arena — known as Staples Center when Bryant played there. That statue will be unveiled in a ceremony on Thursday starting at 3:00 p.m. before being available for public viewing on Friday.

Culver City Women’s Soccer Falls to Palos Verdes, 1-0

It was Senior Night at Culver City High School on Monday, and the girl’s varsity soccer team was looking for a big win against Palos Verdes to celebrate the day. Culver City is led by Head Coach Pete Barlett, and is the only Division 3 team in the Bay League. The Centaur women have struggled a little bit this season in the league going 3-6-1 on the year in league play. But playing against Division 1 and 2 opponents in the league, they have played hard this season and grown a lot, sitting above two other schools in the standings.
