Culver City to Conduct Study on the Feasibility of a Minimum Wage Ordinance
Culver City’s workforce might be seeing higher wages in the near future if an economic study deems it necessary and feasible. The city council discussed whether to move forward with such a study on Monday night.
Culver City Opens First Project Homekey Housing Site
An old Culver City motel will soon serve a new purpose. The lot that formerly housed Deano’s Motel and the Sunburst Motel at 3868 and 3900 Sepulveda Blvd. has officially completed its transformation into Culver City’s first Project Homekey site. 73 units split into sections of interim and permanent housing will be opened to help bring unhoused residents off the streets in small waves starting this month.

In a move meant to expedite proposed changes to the project, the Culver City Council voted 3-2 to approve exemptions to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the Move Culver City Project. Claiming these exemptions would allow the project to forgo an Environmental Impact Review, allowing the city to begin work on the changes approved several weeks ago.
