Community supporters power a grassroots candidacy focused on improving the quality of life for all Culver Citizens.

CULVER CITY, CA – August 26, 2024 – Nancy Barba has picked up six new endorsing
organizations in her promising run for Culver City Council.

California Democratic Renters Council, SEIU-UHW United Healthcare Workers West, Abundant
Housing LA, Streets for All, Pilipino American Los Angeles Democrats, and Working Families
Party joined Stonewall Democratic Club, Housing Action Coalition, Westside Young Democrats,
Sierra Club, and Culver City Democratic Club in backing Barba, a climate leader, housing
advocate, and equity champion with an extensive record of public service.

Additionally, Nancy Barba earned a prestigious Distinction as a 2024 Moms Demand Action
Gun Sense Candidate.

“I am humbled to receive the support of so many respected organizations,” said Barba. “But I
also recognize that it’s my responsibility, if elected, to earn those endorsements every single
day by working tirelessly on behalf of the people of Culver City.

“We have the most dynamic, creative, and visionary small city in Southern California,” Barba
continued. “With policies that drive climate change mitigation, climate adaptation, equity, justice,

Barba has already received a slew of endorsements from elected leaders, including Culver City
Mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, Culver City Council Member Freddy Puza, City of West
Hollywood Mayor John Erickson, City of West Hollywood Vice Mayor Chelsea Byers, Santa
Monica Council Members Gleam Davis and Caroline Torosis, City of Burbank Council Member
Konstantine Anthony, Culver City School Board Vice President Triston Ezidore, and Los
Angeles Unified Board of Education Member Dr. Rocío Rivas, as well as former Culver City
Mayor and National Sierra Club Board Director Meghan Sahli-Wells, former Culver City Mayor
Gary Silbiger, former Culver City Mayor David Hauptman, and former Santa Monica Mayor Pam
O’Connor.

Numerous current and former appointed officials are also among Barba’s supporters, including
Culver City Planning Commissioner Jennifer Carter, former Housing & Homelessness

Nancy Barba’s extensive past public service includes serving as a Culver City Planning
Commission Chair, Culver City Finance Advisory Committee Member, a Culver City Pride Ride

Member, President of the MOMS Club of Culver City East, Co-President of the Samuel Goldwyn
Foundation Children’s Center Parent Advisory League, and a Walk and Roller Committee CoChair at El Marino Language School.

Barba earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State
University, Long Beach, and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Operations
and Maintenance Accredited Professional, a Certified Green Building Professional, and a
Certified GreenPoint Advisor.

The Culver City Council election will be held with the U.S. General Election on Tuesday,
