CULVER CITY, CA – August 6, 2024 – The Stonewall Democratic Club, Housing Action
Coalition, and Westside Young Democrats join the Sierra Club, Culver City Democratic Club,
elected leaders, current and former appointed officials, and legions of local backers boosting
Barba’s campaign for Culver City Council.

Nancy Barba was the first candidate to complete the filing process to run for a seat on the
Culver City Council, and hasn’t looked back, her candidacy gaining momentum in the critical
months before the election November 5, 2024.

“I am honored and grateful to receive the support of these organizations I have long admired,”
said Barba. “We share the same values and vision, informed by climate change mitigation,
climate adaptation, equity, justice, inclusion, and anti-racism. With their help and the support of
local residents and businesses invested in the success of Culver City, we will continue gaining
ground to make our city the best it can be.”

The Housing Action Coalition (HAC) is, “…proud to endorse Nancy Barba as a bold pro-housing
leader and candidate for Culver City Council.” HAC advocates for building more homes at all
levels of affordability to help alleviate California’s housing shortage, displacement, and
affordability crisis.

“The endorsement from the Housing Action Coalition is especially meaningful,” Barba shared. “I
am a founder of Culver City for More Homes, a grassroots group of Culver City residents and
stakeholders devoted to making housing more plentiful, affordable and equitable for everyone.
As a City Planning Commissioner, I responded to the homelessness crisis by creating more
opportunities for housing, addressing homelessness, and delivering much needed results for the
community.”

Barba was also thrilled to receive an endorsement from the Stonewall Democratic Club (SDC),
the first organization in the country established for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
individuals and their straight allies. SDC is committed to achieving equality for all, and to
advancing progressive and feminist values through the Democratic Party.

Barba’s campaign also gained the endorsement of the Westside Young Democrats, a
Democratic club mobilizing young Angelenos whose voices matter when it comes to affordable
housing, mobility and transit, economic development, education and labor issues. “WYD
members are forging a path to ensure that the future of Los Angeles is equitable, affordable,
and sustainable, a mission that Nancy Barba fully supports,” the group wrote.
