A woman was arrested for driving under the influence and another driver was cited for operating a vehicle on a suspended license during a DUI checkpoint in Escondido, according to city officials.

The sobriety checkpoint was conducted Friday from 5:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of El Norte Parkway and Ash Street, the Escondido Police Department said.

Enforcement

Police said the woman arrested for DUI was on probation stemming from a previous DUI case. Officers did not release additional details about her identity.

Another driver was cited for driving on a suspended license during the checkpoint.

In addition to those cases, officers issued 17 citations to drivers who were found to be operating vehicles without a valid license.
