Police said the shooting was reported just after 12:10 a.m. in the 3200 block of Caspian Avenue. Officers responding to the scene found three people suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

According to a police news release, officers immediately provided medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department crews arrived. All three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The male victim later died from his injuries. The two female victims were listed in stable condition, police said.
