West Los Angeles is a paradise for health-conscious individuals. Its health-focused food and drinks scene is no exception. West L.A. is home to some of the finest smoothie shops in the world. Whether you seek a morning pick-me-up or a post-workout recovery treat, here is your guide to the finest smoothie shops in West Los Angeles.
SunLife Organics, Multiple Locations
Founded by health expert Khalil Rafati, SunLife Organics has made a name in West Los Angeles’ thriving wellness scene, offering a thoughtfully selected range of organic and sustainably sourced products. The shop’s smoothie offerings are a celebration of superfoods and nutritious ingredients. I got complimentary tastings of a few of their most popular smoothies. The Alchemist is a refreshing smoothie comprising kale, cucumber, spinach, and tropical fruits. The classic Athlete is a protein-fueled blend perfect for post-workout recovery, and the Billion Dollar Smoothie is a delicious blend of unique ingredients, including young Thai coconut meat and colostrum.
Erewhon Market, Multiple Locations
Erewhon Market has emerged as a well-loved spot for locals looking for organic, high-quality products. Its trendsetting smoothie menu features diverse options, from classic fruit-based blends to more experimental concoctions incorporating superfoods, adaptogens, and other wellness ingredients. Moreover, the upscale grocery store collaborates with celebrities to offer one-of-a-kind smoothie creations. These limited-edition drinks often have rare ingredients and flavor profiles. Erewhon’s signature smoothies include Hailey Bieber’s Strawberry Glaze Skin, Malibu Mango, Coconut Cloud, Salt & Serve, and Strawberry Probiotic. I tried the Hailey Bieber Smoothie ($20), a flavorful and visually arresting beverage. However, I found the taste overly sweet and the price tag steep.
Juice Infusion – Organic Juice Bar, Marina del Rey
This organic juice bar offers a refreshing escape, serving a menu of colorful, nutrient-rich beverages that nourish the body and soul. Their smoothies exhibit this mission, using the finest ingredients to craft delectable concoctions. Juice Infusion’s most popular smoothies include the Pina Colada Smoothie, Custom Salad Bowl Smoothie, Washington Square Smoothie, and Venice Canals Smoothie. Whether you’re craving a tropical escape with the Pina Colada Smoothie or a protein-packed powerhouse like the Venice Canals Smoothie, Juice Infusion has you covered.
Urth Caffé, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills
Established in 1991 by Jilla and Shallom Berkman, Urth Caffé has grown from a single location to a chain of cafés nationwide. The eatery’s smoothie menu includes classic combinations and innovative blends. Highlights are the Sunshine Smoothie, Amazon Rainforest Smoothie, Divine Date Smoothie, and the Tropical Dream Smoothie. I ordered the Sunshine Smoothie ($8.95), a mix of pineapple, apple, celery, lemon, and ginger. It was refreshing and perfectly balanced!
Cafe Gratitude, Venice Beach
Cafe Gratitude is a trendy vegan eatery that serves delightful smoothies that are nourishing and delicious. The “I Am Stellar” and “I Am Beautiful” smoothies are crowd favorites. The “I Am Stellar” Blue Spirulina Smoothie, an arresting blue beverage, is a powerhouse of antioxidants and adaptogens. The “I Am Beautiful” Strawberry Rose Rejuvenation Smoothie is an excellent choice for those searching for a rejuvenating treat. At Cafe Gratitude, I ordered the “I Am Beautiful” Smoothie ($14.50), which combined the sweetness of almonds, mango, and strawberries with the floral notes of rose petals and rose water. The smoothie was filling and not too sweet.
LA Press Juicery, Miracle Mile
LA Press Juicery, located in the heart of the Miracle Mile, crafts a wide variety of organic superfood smoothies. Each smoothie has bold flavors and unique flavor profiles. My favorite smoothies at LA Press Juicery are the Green Room, a creamy avocado-infused beverage, Sundance, a turmeric-based drink, and the decadent Red Carpet, a strawberry shortcake concoction. You can’t go wrong at this shop!
