Relax in the Koreatown Pavilion Garden
The Korean Pavilion, a verdant sanctuary in the center of the Koreatown district, offers a serene escape. This historic space boasts a 5,000-square-foot gazebo decorated with traditional Korean architectural elements and a beautiful garden. It offers a glimpse into the Korean diaspora’s rich cultural heritage, showcasing South Korean craftsmen’s intricate artistry. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and is an important cultural landmark for the Korean community in West Los Angeles.
Brunch at Openaire
Helmed by a Michelin-starred chef—Josiah Citrin, this eatery invites guests to indulge in a menu that celebrates the city’s rich natural produce. Openaire, as the name suggests, features an airy, greenhouse-like ambiance bathed in natural light, crafting a picturesque setting for a leisurely brunch. The outdoor terrace with lush greenery offers a scenic setting for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. Highlights from the brunch menu include the Corn Flake-crusted French Toast, French Dip Sandwich, Coconut and Chia Pudding, and Blackened Shrimp and White Grits. I ordered the Corn Flake Crusted French Toast ($20), which was soft and fluffy on the inside, with a crispy, sweet exterior, served warm with a yuzu-berry compote, vanilla anglaise, and whipped cream. The dish was perfectly balanced and hit the spot!
Hit the Driving Range at Aroma Spa & Sports

In addition to the fitness facilities, the venue also has a variety of spa services conceptualized to pamper and rejuvenate. Additionally, it is home to a four-level golfing range perfect for seasoned golfers and beginners. I love that Aroma Spa & Sports’ friendly staff offers expert guidance and tips to help you elevate your game or learn the basics.
Retail Therapy at Koreatown Plaza
Koreatown Plaza is an expansive 3-story complex with a range of Asian-themed boutiques, eateries, and services. The mall is home to diverse retailers, including clothing stores, K-beauty shops, bookstores, and electronics stores. There are also several restaurants serving authentic Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and other Asian cuisines. Koreatown Plaza is my go-to destination for one-of-a-kind gifts and souvenirs, and to experience the lively ambiance of Koreatown.
Korean BBQ Dinner at Parks BBQ
Parks BBQ offers a well-loved Korean barbecue experience. The restaurant sources only the finest cuts of meat, including USDA Prime and Kobe-style beef, ensuring an exceptional dining experience. The careful preparation and grilling techniques satisfy even the most discerning palate. Signature dishes include Beef Short Rib Soup, Tofu Stew, Beef Tartare, Spicy Black Cod, Kimchi Pancake, Ribeye Steak, Ribeye Bulgogi, and Seasoned Pork Belly. I visited the eatery for an evening snack and tried the Kimchi Pancake ($20), a savory pancake filled with tangy kimchi, vegetables, and a hint of spice, served with a dipping sauce. It was delightful and very satisfying!
