With a wide variety of charming restaurants serving delightful food, there’s something to satisfy every taste. Here’s your guide to where to eat in Culver City. These restaurants are budget-friendly and serve lip-smacking dishes!
Pasta Sisters is a well-known and loved Italian restaurant. This family-owned eatery’s expert culinary team crafts delectable homemade pasta and traditional Italian dishes. Almost every dish at Pasta Sisters has a family story behind it. The restaurant boasts a casual and welcoming ambiance and expansive indoor and outdoor dining sections. Pasta Sisters’ menu also includes sandwiches, salads, and desserts, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with family or friends. The eatery’s signature dishes include Pasta Arrabbiata, Pasta Bolognese, Pasta Pesto, Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli, Meat Lasagna, Chicken Milanese, and Margherita Focaccia Pizza. I ordered the Pasta Arrabbiata ($15) with a delicious tomato sauce made with Italian tomatoes, crushed red peppers, garlic, and fresh parsley. The pasta dish was simple, yet flavorful, and packed a punch.
Hatchet Hall is a chic, lodge-like restaurant that marries rustic charm with modern flair. Its taxidermied animals, quaint spirits bar, and mouthwatering meat-centric menu offer a distinctive dining experience. The food is inspired by Southern cuisine, with a California influence. At Hatchet Hall, grab a table on the aesthetically pleasing patio, which is perfect for people-watching. Order the Hatchet Burger and Fries, Pan Seared Scallops, Meatloaf and Mash, Biscuits and Gravy, Shrimp and Grits, or Whole Branzino, and you will not be disappointed! I tried the Hatchet Burger and Fries ($25), and it hit the spot. It was a juicy, perfectly cooked burger with bourbon-bacon jam, cheddar cheese, and grilled scallion relish, served with a side of fries.
Father’s Office Culver City is a lively gastropub in the historic Helms Bakery building. The restaurant’s ambiance is laid back and inviting. At this eatery, chef Sang Yoon is focused on pairing the world’s best craft beers with mouthwatering classic American food. The restaurant serves a seasonally rotating selection of 36 craft beers on tap and carefully curated small-producer wine and craft cocktails. Highlights from the food menu include Deviled Eggs, Organic Beet Salad, Bratwurst, The Office Burger, Prime Hanger Steak and Spicy Stout Ribs. Whether you’re a beer lover or simply looking for a hearty meal, Father’s Office is a must-visit restaurant.
A hidden gem, Jackson Market and Deli is a charming neighborhood market and deli. Founded in 1925, this eatery retails a range of fresh produce, gourmet groceries, and housemade deli fare, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastries, and breakfast items. With a beautiful outdoor dining patio and garden, it’s my go-to spot to grab a quick meal without breaking the bank. Their Cheese Melt Panini, Italian Sub, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Fattoush Salad, French Toast, Greek Omelet, and Blueberry Pancakes, are crowd favorites. You can grab your meal and dine at its outdoor patio featuring a white pebbled courtyard punctuated by bougainvillea, which sports a vintage vibe with rustic tables and armchairs.
Nestled in the heart of Culver City, Samosa House is a fast-casual Indian eatery and grocery store. A favorite of locals and tourists alike, the restaurant serves authentic, homestyle Indian dishes that are consistently good. Established in 1979, this family-run eatery prides itself on serving healthy Indian food. My top picks from their extensive menu are the Dosa, Pani Puri, Vada Pav and Samosa Chaat, Chana Masala, Paneer Makhani, Daal, and Gujarati Thali.
