West Hollywood, or “WeHo,” is one of if not the liveliest city on the Westside. Well-loved for its progressive spirit, vibrant nightlife, and celebrity sightings, it has something for everyone. In just 24 hours, you can get a taste of the city’s glitz and glamor, rich culture, and unique experiences. Additionally, WeHo is also a paradise for wellness seekers, offering a blend of fitness classes and holistic practices. Save this guide for when you want to check out one of West L.A.’s most electrifying districts. Here’s your itinerary on how to spend 24 hours in West Hollywood! 

Workout at Rumble Boxing Gym

Begin your day with an energizing, full-body, boxing-inspired group fitness class at Rumble Boxing Gym. This gym’s most popular class is a 45-minute, 10-round sweat fest that includes punching water-filled aqua bags and strength training circuits utilizing dumbbells and bodyweight exercises. You do not need boxing experience, as the trainers begin each class with a rundown of basic punches. 

Grab Breakfast at Carmel and Shopping at Melrose Avenue 

After an exhilarating workout, visit Carmel for a hearty breakfast. Carmel is a warm and welcoming Mediterranean eatery located on Melrose Avenue. At this eatery, chef Asaf Maoz uses some of the oldest cooking techniques in the world to craft delectable Levantine dishes. From their brunch menu, we recommend ordering the Shakshuka, Short Rib Bourekas, Shuk Salad, Kampachi Crudo, Egg Salad, Moroccan Style Frena, and the Market Hummus. Post breakfast, explore the chic boutiques and vintage shops on Melrose Avenue. These shops retail some of the most unorthodox fashion and home decor pieces. My favorite stores on Melrose Avenue include Wasteland, Joyrich, Posers, Reformation, and Brooklyn Projects.  

Light Lunch at Pizzana

After indulging in some retail therapy, grab a light lunch at Pizzana. This award-winning restaurant serves chef Daniele Uditi’s interpretation of the Naples style of pizzas. The eatery offers authentic Neapolitan pizzas with unexpected flavors such as Cacio e Pepe and Neo Margherita. Their pizzas are crafted using a dough that is meticulously prepared and allowed to ferment for two days, and locally sourced, fresh toppings. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe Pizza ($26) and was very impressed by how unusual yet delicious the pizza was. 

Relax at Spa Pendry

Situated in Pendry West Hollywood Hotel, Spa Pendry is a tranquil wellness oasis housing four treatment rooms, including a couple’s room, a nail salon, two steam rooms, and an inviting lounge. The spa’s treatments utilize state-of-the-art skincare technology in a tranquil setting, designed by interior designer Martin Brudnizki. Their signature Energizing Massage, a 60-minute session that is a blend of Swedish, deep tissue, and aromatherapy techniques, is a crowd favorite. After your massage, decompress at Pendry West Hollywood’s outdoor pool, which offers unobstructed views of the city’s skyline. 

Catch the Sunset on the Sunset Strip

The Sunset Strip is a 1.7-mile section of Sunset Boulevard. It is frequented by locals and tourists for its nightlife hotspots, upscale stores, and rich history in the entertainment industry. Catch the sunset at Harriet’s Rooftop, a trendy lounge located on the top of the 1 Hotel. This rooftop lounge boasts aesthetically pleasing furnishings and panoramic vistas of the Sunset Strip. Harriet’s Rooftop’s expert culinary team serves delicious multi-cuisine bites and craft cocktails. I ordered the Passion Project ($20), a delightful beverage comprising Suntory Roku Gin, passion fruit, hibiscus, and lemon, shaken and topped with club soda. The cocktail was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and hit the spot!

Dinner at Amour WeHo

Then, check out Amour, a charming eatery that serves mouthwatering French cuisine with Japanese influences. The stylish cafe houses a sophisticated tasting menu space and a quaint alfresco dining section serving à la carte dishes. Amour’s signature dishes include the New Caledonia Blue Prawn Carpaccio, Perigord Truffle Chawanmushi with Uni and Trout Roe, and ​​Black Cod Tempura with Camembert Sauce and Raspberry. The food at Amour WeHo is innovative and satisfying at the same time. 

Nightcap at ​​​​Hamburger Mary’s

End your glamorous West Hollywood staycation at Hamburger Mary’s, which is located in the heart of the city. Established in 1972 in San Francisco, Hamburger Mary’s is a drag-themed burger eatery and bar. It is renowned for its fun drag shows and delightful cocktails. Hamburger Mary’s offers American cuisine dishes, a full bar, and drag shows almost every night of the week. I found the drag show very enjoyable. The drag queens were extremely talented and put on a good show. 

A weekend spent in West Hollywood will surprise and entertain you. Its high-spirited atmosphere, inclusive people, and rich history will make you keep coming back.
