Culver City Federation of Teachers, the union representing Culver City Unified educators, endorsed Andrew Lachman for Culver City Unified School District Board of Education.

“As an incoming middle school parent who has an education, legal, and policy background with experience on CCUSD committees, we believe Andrew Lachman has the right combination to bring people together to focus on the best interests of the Culver City students, teachers, and staff,” said CCFT Political Director Pamela Greenstein.

“As the son of an elementary school teacher I am honored to have the support of the hard working teachers of CCUSD.” said Andrew Lachman. “I look forward to working with them to strengthen CCUSD’s partnership with labor, build greater trust and bring more resources to our classrooms and students.

A parent of a sixth grader at Culver City Middle School (who also attended El Marino Elementary and El Rincon Elementary as well). Lachman has served on the CCUSD Equity Advisory Committee, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Committee, and Bond Feasibility Committee where he advocated for greater communication and input from teachers and parents. Lachman has been a business, privacy, and ethics attorney in his own firm and in-house for over fifteen years and taught business law as an adjunct professor at Woodbury University. He recently was appointed to the Culver City Education Foundation board and was Legislative Director for Congressman Ted Lieu and Staff Consultant to the California Legislative Joint Committee on the Arts.

Andrew Lachman has raised over $35,000 for the race and received endorsements from a broad set of community and elected leaders including Congressman Ted Lieu, several former school board and council members, as well as parents and activists from across the city.  The campaign website is at www.lachmanforccusd.com where voters can find information on Lachman’s positions, endorsements and sign up for his mailing list.
