Restaurants in Malibu and Topanga Canyon offer a delightful combination of scenic beauty and lip-smacking food. Here are some of the most picturesque restaurants you can visit this summer. Save this guide for your next outing in beautiful Malibu or Topanga Canyon!

Cafe on 27

Located on Highway 27 in Topanga Canyon, Cafe on 27 is a treehouse eatery that boasts panoramic vistas of the surrounding natural landscape. This al fresco restaurant houses charming decor pieces and furnishings from the owner’s travels abroad. Cafe on 27’s extensive menu comprises delectable Californian cuisine with Middle Eastern influences created using the freshest local ingredients. I visited the quaint eatery on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 20 minutes before being taken to my table overlooking the verdant canyon. I ordered the Kofta Tagine ($24), which comprised two sunny side eggs with Moroccan beef meatballs and spiced tomato sauce, served in a traditional clay pot, with a side of baguette, and the Moroccan Mocha ($8), and was greatly satisfied. The food was light, fresh, and packed a punch!

Duke’s Malibu

Duke’s Malibu is an ocean-facing eatery situated along the Pacific Coast Highway. It pays homage to surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku, who is credited with bringing surfing to Malibu. The restaurant offers Hawaiian-inspired dishes and spectacular ocean views. Duke’s Malibu has a casual yet lively vibe. The eatery even houses a barefoot bar, perfect to lounge in after a dip in the Pacific Ocean. I visited the restaurant for Sunday Brunch and was impressed with their innovative dishes, such as Macadamia Nut Hummus, Korean Sticky Ribs, Crispy Coconut Shrimp, and Panko Crusted Calamari. I tried the Loco Moco ($18) signature brunch dish that included a hand-ground signature beef patty, farm-fresh fried eggs, steamed jasmine rice, and mushroom gravy. The food was hearty and flavorful. Make your way to Duke’s Malibu for a relaxed meal with a large group of friends or family.

Geoffrey’s

This celebrity-favorite oceanside eatery is perfect for celebrations over weekend lunch or a candlelit dinner with surrounding fire pits. Located off the Pacific Coast Highway, Geoffrey’s Malibu is an upscale restaurant evocative of Mediterranean seaside eateries. The eatery is well-loved for its delicious California-style international cuisine and breathtaking vistas of the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant is designed in such a way that every table has a panoramic view of the ocean. From their dinner menu, the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry, Heirloom Burrata Salad, Corn Chowder, Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass, and Lobster Risotto are crowd favorites. I checked out Geoffrey’s for lunch and was blown away by the stunning setting, the scrumptious food, and the impeccable service.

Inn of the Seventh Ray

Perched in the Santa Monica Mountains in Topanga, the Inn of the Seventh Ray is a one-of-a-kind restaurant. It’s known for its romantic ambiance, featuring majestic sycamores, waterfalls, winding brick pathways, ornate chandeliers, and twinkling fairy lights under the stars. The welcoming indoor-outdoor eatery offers seasonal California cuisine using only local organic and naturally raised ingredients. I visited the Inn of the Seventh Ray for weekend dinner and immediately loved the beautiful setting and the friendly host and servers. I highly recommend the Creamy Truffle Risotto ($24) and the Fresh Baked Rustic Bread ($8), which is the perfect comfort food. This restaurant has all the ingredients for a perfect romantic meal with your loved one!

Malibu Farm Cafe

Offering jaw-dropping views of the Pacific Ocean, Malibu Farm Cafe is a counter-service eatery located at the end of the Malibu Pier. The restaurant’s expert culinary team specializes in crafting vibrant dishes using farm-fresh, local, and organic ingredients. Guests can order at the counter and sit on the reclaimed wood picnic benches inside or outside on the deck. Malibu Farm Cafe’s Breakfast Burrito, Fried Egg Sandwich, Surfers Rancheros, and Swedish Mini Pancakes are very popular. The Malibu Farm Cafe is an excellent option if you want a casual and affordable meal.
