Santa Monica Pier’s 115th Birthday Celebration, Santa Monica

The Santa Monica Pier, an iconic Southern California landmark, is celebrating its 115th birthday on Friday, September 6th. The pier has been a cornerstone of West Los Angeles’ for its entire history, offering a distinctive mix of history, entertainment, and awe-inspiring ocean vistas. At this free event, attendees can expect entertaining live music, a screening of the blockbuster movie Barbie, birthday cake and ice cream, and family-friendly activities. Moreover, the celebration will include a special performance by Pinktastic Plastixx, the world’s first Barbiecore band. Bring your blankets and set up a picnic on the pier deck!

Day of the Dog, Santa Monica 

Day of the Dog is a popular annual event in Santa Monica that celebrates the special bond between humans and their canine companions. This free fest will occur on Main Street in Santa Monica (between Ocean Park Boulevard and Strand Avenue). It will include various activities and attractions, including dog races, costume contests, agility demonstrations, and a marketplace filled with pet-related products and services. The event also provides opportunities for pet adoption and fosters a sense of community among dog lovers. It’s a fun-filled day for humans and their furry companions!

When: Saturday, September 7

Opening Party at For The Win, Beverly Center, Beverly Hills 

Founded in 2020, For The Win is a gourmet burger joint that never fails to deliver. To commemorate the opening of For The Win’s 10th outpost at the Beverly Center, the beloved local burger chain is hosting a grand opening party where the first 500 customers in line will receive free cheeseburgers along with free beer and wine. Furthermore, attendees can hang out at a beer garden with lawn games, music, raffles, and interactive activities. The first 30 guests in line will also receive a $25 Beverly Center gift card. Be sure to arrive early!

Ivy Station Night Market: Oktoberfest, Culver City 

Ivy Station is a mixed-use, transit-oriented venue that provides a blend of retail, office, and residential spaces surrounding a large central open courtyard conveniently served by light rail and bus transit. The Ivy Station Night Market: Oktoberfest will showcase German culture and cuisine. With an inviting ambiance, the outdoor market will offer a wide range of German-inspired food, drinks, and entertainment. Attendees can indulge in traditional Bavarian dishes, live music, and fun activities for all ages. It’s a perfect opportunity to experience a taste of Germany without leaving West Los Angeles.

Americana in the Park, Gandara Park, Santa Monica

Americana music is a genre that marries elements of traditional American musical styles, such as folk, blues, country, and rock, to create a unique and modern sound. A partnership with McCabe’s Guitar Shop, Americana in the Park is a free concert series and community gathering that celebrates a range of Americana music, from traditional to contemporary, including a youth mariachi band, a community sing-along, high-energy instrumentals, food trucks, and craft activities. Held in the scenic Gandara Park, this event draws crowds of all ages to enjoy live performances and the vibrant ambiance of this West L.A. city. 

When: Every Sunday from September 1 to 29
