Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning outside a residence in central Las Vegas.

LVMPD Communications received the ShotSpotter notification at approximately 12:45 a.m. in the area of North 15th Street and Mesquite Avenue. ShotSpotter technology detects gunfire and alerts police to its approximate location.
Officers were dispatched to the area to investigate the alert.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man lying on the sidewalk in front of a residence in the 300 block of North 15th Street. Police said the man was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
