A celebration of life service is planned this weekend in Kent for two men who were killed in a car crash late last month.

Anthony Lenorris Baker Jr., 36, and Latrez James Cooper, 43, died May 24 after their vehicle struck an electric pole and caught fire in the 21800 block of 68th Avenue South, according to police.

Service

The joint celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, located at 19300 108th Avenue Southeast in Kent.

Family members and friends are expected to gather to honor the lives of both men.

Crash

Kent police said the crash occurred as the vehicle was traveling southbound on 68th Avenue South. Witnesses reported that the car may have sideswiped another vehicle shortly before striking the pole.

The Kent Police Traffic Unit responded to the scene and conducted an investigation to determine what led up to the crash. No additional details have been released, and the investigation remains unresolved.

Baker was born in Seattle and was described by family as deeply devoted to his children, family, and friends. His obituary notes that he valued dedication and hard work throughout his life.
