Ronald McDonald House San Diego has selected Alexandra “Alex” Loker as its next president and chief executive officer following a national search. Loker, a Point Loma resident with nearly a decade of leadership experience at Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation, will officially assume the role on Sept. 21.
She succeeds longtime president and CEO Chuck Day, who is retiring after leading the nonprofit for the past 16 years.
Leadership Transition
Loker was chosen after a nationwide search to identify the organization’s next leader.
Day expressed confidence in the transition, saying he believes the nonprofit is well positioned for the future under Loker’s leadership.
To ensure a smooth handover, Loker will work closely with Day during the transition period before officially taking over in September.
Local Roots
Loker said her connection to Point Loma has made the opportunity especially meaningful.
She noted that her family has deep ties to the community, with her children attending Loma Portal Elementary School, the same school attended by both her father and grandfather.
