Investigators said the man was riding an electric scooter when he struck a Jersey wall on the east side of the roadway. The impact caused him to be ejected from the scooter.
Emergency responders transported the rider to a nearby hospital, where his injuries were initially believed to be minor.

Police later received a phone call from the victim’s mother informing officers that her son had died from his injuries.
