Vista Senior Apartment Disturbance Ends With SWAT Arrest and Multiple Felony Charges

A 64-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after authorities said he caused several days of disturbances at a senior apartment complex in Vista, prompting a SWAT response and the discovery of multiple weapons and illegal drugs inside his apartment.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect, identified as Logan Hines, had allegedly been involved in a series of incidents that left residents concerned about their safety.

Incident

Deputies responded to the 400 block of North Santa Fe Avenue at approximately 5:00 a.m. on August 4, 2026, after receiving a report that Hines had allegedly fired a BB gun at a resident.

Authorities said the pellet did not strike the resident, who took cover behind a wall before contacting deputies. The resident reportedly told investigators he was afraid to return to his apartment.

Officials noted that deputies were already familiar with Hines because they had responded to multiple disturbance calls involving him over the previous several days.
