Las Vegas Family Reports Encounter After 2023 Fireball and Backyard Crash

A Las Vegas family claims they witnessed unusually tall, non-human figures in their backyard following a strange incident that coincided with a widely observed fireball over the western United States in April 2023. While authorities have confirmed that something may have fallen into the area, what exactly occurred remains unclear.

The incident has drawn attention after details were reviewed and reported by 8 News Now Investigators. Law enforcement officials say the event was taken seriously, though no official explanation has been confirmed.

Fireball

Just before midnight on April 30, 2023, residents across several western states reported seeing a bright fireball streak across the sky. A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer captured the colorful object on body camera while on patrol in the valley.

Around the same time, a nearby doorbell camera recorded a loud noise resembling an impact. Investigators later confirmed the audio captured a sound consistent with something striking the ground.

Yard

At a ranch-style home in the Las Vegas area, two brothers and their father were working on a vehicle in their yard when they noticed a glowing, spark-like object descending from the sky. The family said the object appeared to crash nearby and produced what they described as a shock wave.

One of the witnesses, Angel, said the area where the object landed appeared distorted and blurry, as if partially concealed. What the family reported seeing next led them to call police.

During the 911 call, Angel told a dispatcher that there were two large figures in the backyard.

“They are very large,” he said, estimating their height at eight to ten feet. “They look like aliens.”

Description

Angel described the figures as having large, shiny eyes and visible mouths. He told the dispatcher he was certain they were not human.

Publicly, Angel later said the family heard multiple footsteps moving through the yard and later on the roof of the house. He also claimed one of the figures appeared to climb into a large front-loader parked on the property, as if attempting to operate it.

According to Angel, one of the beings was greenish-gray in color with long legs and large eyes. He said he could hear deep breathing and felt frozen in place when he made eye contact with it.

After the incident, the family said a circular impression was left in the soil at the spot where the object appeared to crash and then disappear.

Response

LVMPD sources say the dispatcher initially considered whether a crisis intervention team might be appropriate. However, officers ultimately responded to the scene, arriving approximately 38 minutes after the call.

Police sources later indicated that investigators believe something did crash in the family’s yard, though they have not identified what it was. A few days after the initial response, two LVMPD sergeants reportedly returned to the property to ask follow-up questions.

Aftermath

The family told investigators they noticed individuals wearing suits and sunglasses driving past their home in a vehicle with government-style license plates in the days following the incident.

Officials from Nellis Air Force Base and Creech Air Force Base have publicly denied any involvement or interest in the event.

8 News Now Investigators attempted to interview the family multiple times over several weeks. Despite accepting interview requests, the family did not answer the door or their phone during each scheduled visit.

While law enforcement sources say they consider the report of an object falling into the yard credible, no explanation has been offered regarding the reported figures or the nature of the object seen in the sky.

The case remains unresolved, leaving questions about what, if anything, landed in the Las Vegas backyard that night.
