Fourth Year of the Annual Event Features Two Unique Experiences to Join the Fun!

This year’s Culver City Pride Ride and Rally returns to Culver City on Saturday, June 29th, with two festive and fabulous ways to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community. The 2024 Pride Ride & Rally includes a six-mile neighborhood Pride Ride from 4pm to 6pm, followed by a Rally with Pride evening party from 6pm to 9pm.

First, rock your rainbow outfits as we ride, scoot, skate, and cycle through Culver City’s scenic
neighborhoods, beginning 4pm in Syd Kronenthal Park, 3459 McManus Avenue. Come push or
pedal with friends, family, and neighbors as we roll together toward a brighter future. The Pride

Then come dance the night away at our outdoor, evening Pride Rally street party on Main Street
in the heart of Downtown Culver City! Join us from 6pm to 9pm for a celebration featuring live
DJs, drag performances, speakers, art experiences, immersive entertainment, face painting,
food & drinks, dancing and so much more! The Pride Rally evening street party is free and open
to all–no RSVP is needed.

Culver City Pride Ride and Rally has grown rapidly since the city’s very first official Pride
celebration in 2021. The event is now the largest Pride Ride in the region (maybe the entire
State!) with over 400 riders expected and over 500 rally attendees. The annual event was
created by Culver City Mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, Councilmember Freddy Puza, and
Bubba Fish, a current candidate for Culver City Council.

“Culver City Pride Ride and Rally is a Pride event as unique and special as our LGBTQ+
community, bringing the joy of Pride to the doorstep of thousands of Culver City families,” said
Co-Creator Bubba Fish. “The original Pride was a protest, and our Pride doesn’t shy away from
the issues that make a city welcoming to everyone: housing, safe streets, and services that care
for all of us. It’s a Pride party with a purpose.”

The Los Angeles area has a unique place in pride history, as it has been home to many firsts in
the LGBTQ+ rights movement. The region became known for its unprecedented resistance, in
1967, at the Black Cat Tavern, which was the site of one of the first demonstrations in the
United States protesting police brutality against the LGBTQ+ community, which preceded the
Stonewall Uprising, commonly and wrongly referred to as “riots.” While the first march to
commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising was named “Christopher Street Liberation Day,”
organizers eventually renamed the commemoration “PRIDE” in honor of the movement’s origins
in Los Angeles. Decades later, we join together at the Culver City Pride Ride and Rally to honor
the many trailblazers who fought for their rights, and future progress in the fight against
homophobia and transphobia in the United States.

Culver City Pride Ride & Rally is made possible by a 100% volunteer staff that relies on
community donations to make this important event as fun and inclusive as possible. Please

the largest roller skate community in the Los Angeles area. Skate Hunnies LA promotes safer
streets by organizing events that show that streets can be for the people by offering free
community rides, skate lessons, and pop-up events.
