An artist who created a life-sized sculpture of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk says he has been unable to find a buyer for the work despite investing approximately $100,000 of his own money into the project.
New York-based sculptor Sergio Furnari said he expected the piece to attract interest from collectors, but instead has received messages from people expressing negative reactions to the statue.

The artist also said he suffered a broken foot while working on the sculpture after tripping over a roll of tape in his studio.

Instead of attracting buyers, Furnari said many of the responses he has received have been critical.
According to the artist, multiple people contacted him to say they wanted to urinate on the sculpture.
Despite those reactions, Furnari said he remains disappointed that no financial support has materialized for the project.

“I wasn’t a fan of Charlie,” he said.
The artist specifically criticized comments Kirk had made regarding Palestine, explaining that he disagreed with the conservative commentator’s position on the issue.
